Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, I moved to Perth, Western Australia, when I was six years old. English has always been my first language despite coming from a foreign country. To speak fluently and correctly was considered an outstanding quality. After school, I attended elocution and grammar classes to ensure my written and spoken words were polished.

After living in Australia for so long, I have embraced greater freedom in my expression and now love to write and speak naturally—a freedom this wonderful country has always symbolized for me.
